failed to init transaction (unable to lock database) By Yusof Khalid of e-Bazar Solutions Sometimes we make some mistake while updating or installing something in our box. Some may use apt-get mainly for Debian distro's. Currently I'm using Arch Linux and for package management Arch use pacman and it act same like apt-get :-) While I'm trying to install something suddenly I don't know what I'm pressing and the the installation process suddenly stop. And when I try to resume it says that error: failed to init transaction (unable to lock database) if you're sure a package manager is not already running, you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck So to fix this you can remove the file in /var/lib/pacman/db.lck Simply using mv command bash#mv /var/lib/pacman/db.lck You're done!
